SUMMARY

We're seeking a skilled Mobile Engineer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in both React and React Native, enabling them to work across our web and mobile applications, as well as the ability to work on both the front-end and back-end aspects of our applications. The position plays a pivotal role harnessing technology to drive and optimize business strategies while enhancing operational efficiencies. This role involves spearheading transformative initiatives to enhance business processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native

Contribute to our web applications using React and Next.js

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

Identify and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks.

Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Collaborate with designers and backend developers to implement new features

Design and implement RESTful APIs to support mobile and web applications.

Optimize application performance and ensure high-quality user experiences

Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards

Deploy applications to Apple App Store and Google Play Store

Manage app store presence, including updates, descriptions, and screenshots

Regular Contacts

This position has regular contact with senior management, TFCCS employees, TFCCS Service Centers, Vendors, fellow Database Administrators and System Administrators, Network Administrators, the Support Desk, Department Managers, and the Project Management Office.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

5+ years experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar experience, or relevant software development experience.

Knowledge/Skills

Proven experience as a Mobile Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar role.

3+ years of experience with React and React Native

Experience with state management (e.g., Redux, MobX)

Familiarity with RESTful APIs and GraphQL

Knowledge of mobile app deployment processes for iOS and Android

Understanding of responsive design principles

Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, BitBucket)

Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)

Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools.

Knowledge of serverless framework tools and best practices for deployment and management

Understanding of Agile methodologies.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Experience with native mobile development (iOS/Android)

Familiarity with backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Express, MERN stack)

Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

Contributions to open-source projects

Work Environment

This position regularly works in an office environment. This position works in the Boston office with an opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.

Engagement with Christian Science

Mother Church membership preferred.

Primary Class instruction preferred.

Pay range:

$145,701.00 - $189,409.80 annually

The pay ranges disclosed in our job postings are the compensation ranges the Church reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for a given position at the time of posting.

The offered salary will be determined by factors such as the applicant’s relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities; and benchmarking, work location, and internal equity.
