Corporate Reliability Engineer

Reports to: Director, Maintenance Systems & Development
Scope: Multiple Southwire manufacturing locations
Overview The
Corporate Reliability Engineer
plays a key role in driving maintenance and reliability excellence across multiple Southwire manufacturing sites. This role will lead efforts in improving equipment performance through best practices, advanced diagnostics, and strategic initiatives aligned with Southwire’s Reliability and Maintainability Roadmap.
Must-Have Qualifications
Proven experience in reliability engineering
Strong expertise in oil analysis
Hands‑on experience with vibration analysis
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with plant maintenance teams to identify and implement reliability improvements.
Mentor and support plant reliability engineers in leveraging maintenance systems for performance analysis.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), delivering training and guidance.
Support equipment design and commissioning with a focus on reliability and maintainability.
Lead and manage assigned projects, ensuring successful implementation and effectiveness.
Optimize preventive maintenance practices across similar asset types.
Audit plant reliability practices and suggest improvements aligned with roadmap goals.
Provide CMMS training and support for master/transactional data.
Develop and maintain documentation for reliability policies and procedures.
Promote reliability best practices, including:
Proactive vs. reactive maintenance
Time‑based vs. condition‑based strategies
Maintenance prevention as a core philosophy
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (required)
Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment focused on reliability and maintainability
In‑depth knowledge of:
Failure Modes and Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
Proficient in predictive maintenance tools: vibration, thermal, ultrasonic, oil, and circuit analysis
Strong training and facilitation skills for reliability methodologies
Physical Requirements
Lifting/Carrying: Up to 50 lbs (10%)
Standing/Walking: Frequent (60%)
Sitting/Climbing/Kneeling: Occasionally (15%)
Pushing/Pulling: Occasionally, up to 50 lbs
Working Conditions
Office, lab, and plant environments
Exposure to loud noise, extreme temperatures, dust/fumes, confined spaces
Use of PPE: safety glasses, shoes, hard hat
May require work during weekends, holidays, or on various shifts
