Mojang Studios is seeking a Software Engineer II, with a passion for education to join us in our mission to empower teachers and students to do more with Minecraft Education.
As an engineer in this area, you will build features on all areas of the product – from UI and in‑game experiences to highly scalable services that support our growth. Collaboration with peers in development, design, product, and quality will be key to delivering robust features on a predictable schedule.

Responsibilities
Works on all aspects of Software Development including design, implementation, testing, maintenance, documentation and delivery
Collaborate across product disciplines with customer focus to deliver impactful experiences.
Optimizes, refactors and reuses code to improve performance and maintainability – ensuring maximum efficiency, effectiveness, and return on investment.
Leads design and code reviews across the feature area, understands the root causes of issues, and finds ways to resolve them.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.
Development experience using C++.
Preferred Qualifications
Cross platform (Windows/Android/iOS/macOS), educational software development or teaching experience a plus.
Ability to quickly prototype, iterate, and take initiative to drive progress.
Written and verbal communication skills.
