Overview The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for leading tax compliance, planning, and consulting engagements for our clients. This leadership role will manage a team of tax professionals, ensuring high-quality service delivery while fostering staff development and maintaining client relationships. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for client service.
Responsibilities
Manage and review complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and non-profit organizations
Provide strategic tax planning and consulting services to clients
Oversee, mentor, and develop tax staff and seniors, providing technical guidance and performance feedback
Maintain and develop client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for tax matters
Conduct tax research and stay current on changes in tax law, communicating implications to clients and internal teams
Coordinate and manage engagement teams to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met
Assist partners with business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client presentations
Ensure adherence to firm policies, procedures, and professional standards
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; Master’s in Taxation or relevant advanced degree preferred
Active CPA license required
5-7 years of progressive tax experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role in public accounting
Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws
Proficiency with tax software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CCH Axcess or similar platforms a plus
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
