Signoff Static Timing Analysis CAD Engineer
Join QCOM Technologies Inc’s vibrant Global CAD team to push the limits of Signoff solutions for Snapdragon chips powering billions of mobile devices. The role requires Signoff Static Timing Analysis (STA) knowledge and CAD development skills to define and develop tools and methodologies for accuracy and compute, in close collaboration with EDA vendors and Snapdragon Design teams. Qualcomm is using leading‑edge internal and EDA technologies in the Signoff domain, including pioneering generative AI, machine learning, and hierarchical solutions, to enable the latest STA features and reduce conservatism in Signoff.
Responsibilities
Improve the Signoff Timing methodology for diverse Mobile, Compute, AI, and IoT Snapdragon chips.
Participate in the enablement and validation of new methodologies and features; collaborate with the AI team on ground‑breaking initiatives for compute and turnaround time reduction.
Interface with Synopsys and Cadence EDA vendors to bring up new STA technologies that deliver production‑ready toolsets satisfying project requirements, and follow up on issues faced by the Design and CAD teams.
Provide solutions to Snapdragon design teams, analyze their requests, and address them through ticket queues.
Set up, augment, and maintain regressions of complex STA designs.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Deep knowledge of STA features and timing concepts.
2–6 years of experience in Signoff Timing of SoCs at top‑level or block‑level.
2–6 years of experience with scripting and programming languages: Python and TCL preferred.
Experience with Synopsys Primetime STA tool (preferred), or Cadence Tempus STA tool, or timing engines of synthesis, placement, and routing tools.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field.

Compensation Pay range: $98,500.00 – $147,700.00. Additional discretionary bonuses, RSU grants, and a competitive benefits package are also offered.
