Senior Associate, Merchant Strategy & Operations – DoorDash
This role focuses on supporting merchant partners and driving operational excellence for our restaurant selection and product offerings.
About the Team
On the Merchant Strategy & Operations team, our mission is to provide best‑in‑class restaurant selection for consumers and build products and services for our merchants to grow their businesses profitably on DoorDash.
We work on problems ranging from acquiring and onboarding new merchants to building a positive experience and solving pain points for existing merchants, to growing their sales through new products and services.
About the Role As a Merchant Strategy & Operations Senior Associate at DoorDash, you will lead the support experience for our merchants, owning both the strategy and execution of how we serve them once they’re live on the platform.
You’ll transform support into a tech‑first, scalable, and seamless experience that drives merchant satisfaction, retention, and loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
Strategize – Build the strategy for helping merchants succeed once they’re live on DoorDash by providing fast and seamless solutions when merchants face issues, minimizing operational friction
Experiment, Analyse and Implement – Use data‑driven decision‑making and sound business judgment to drive go‑to‑market and execution for new initiatives to help merchants have the best experience on DoorDash
Influence – Work cross‑functionally with our product, operations, marketing, sales, finance, and analytics teams to land key initiatives
Qualifications
You have a Bachelor’s degree or higher
You have 2–3 years of experience in consulting, strategy, operations, banking, technology, or related experience; high‑growth or early‑stage startup experience and experience leading a team are a plus
You have a proven track record of working on highly cross‑functional initiatives, managing towards ambitious goals, and succeeding in complex environments
You’re an owner / self‑starter – You have a bias towards action and are proactive in identifying opportunities and solutions, and areas to add value
You’re naturally curious – You always look for ways to innovate and improve
You’re a problem solver – You solve problems from first principles and resist “this is how it’s always been done” thinking
You’re analytical – You let data win arguments, and you’re comfortable pulling your own data in SQL or modelling in Excel
You’re gritty – You roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to make things successful
You’re persuasive and a relationship‑builder – You leverage clear, concise communications (both written and verbal) to influence and motivate people at all levels across a variety of job functions
Compensation and Benefits Base salary
is localized according to the employee’s work location.
Ranges are market‑dependent and may be modified in the future.
Base salary range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado: $78,200—$115,000 USD.
In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants.

Paid Time Off
For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
For hourly roles: vacation accrues at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g., about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g., about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).
