Intrinsic First, LLC Web & Digital Interface Developer San Diego, CA·Full time Apply for Web & Digital Interface Developer ***MUST reside in the greater SAN DIEGO Metropolitan Area*** We are seeking a talented and motivated Web & Digital Interface Developer to design, build, and optimize user‑facing web applications and digital interfaces for Department of Defense (DoD) clients. The ideal candidate combines modern front‑end development skills with an understanding of user experience, accessibility, and security compliance in government and defense environments.

Description

Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications and digital interfaces.

Collaborate with design and backend teams to integrate APIs, data visualization tools, and analytics dashboards.

Ensure accessibility, usability, and compliance with DoD, Section 508, and NIST standards.

Develop and maintain secure coding practices in alignment with DoD cybersecurity policies.

Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and cross‑platform performance.

Implement user authentication and role‑based access control features as needed.

Maintain version control and documentation using Git and CI/CD best practices.

Support UI/UX testing, feedback loops, and iterative improvements.

Stay current with evolving web technologies, frameworks, and defense contracting digital standards.

Reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the designated worksite or client facility to support periodic on‑site meetings, reviews, and inspections in accordance with contract and security requirements.

Participate in both on‑site and virtual work as needed; while hybrid or telework arrangements may be approved, regular in‑person presence is required to fulfill client, program, and compliance obligations.

Ensure availability for site visits and coordination activities that support contractual commitments and operational needs.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, or related field (Master’s preferred or equivalent experience).

Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).

Experience and Qualifications

3–5+ years of professional web development experience.

Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, RESTful APIs, and JSON.

Familiarity with secure web architecture and government cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).

Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, JIRA, and Agile development methodologies.

Experience with DoD environments, DISA STIG compliance, or FedRAMP systems preferred.

Hands‑on experience with Node.js, Express, or other backend integrations a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong understanding of user experience (UX) and interface design principles.

Excellent problem‑solving and debugging skills with an eye for detail and design quality.

Ability to translate mission and technical requirements into user‑friendly digital solutions.

Effective communicator and collaborator across multi‑disciplinary teams.

Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and in agile team settings.

Ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance (active clearance preferred). Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
