Reporting directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) provides strategic leadership for Phoenix Children’s long‑term growth and organizational advancement. The CSO shapes and executes an integrated strategy that aligns with the mission and vision, positioning the organization for sustainable success in a dynamic healthcare environment. With deep expertise in market analysis, competitive positioning, and organizational capabilities, the executive ensures strategies are both innovative and adaptable. Serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team, the CSO drives systemwide strategic planning, coordination, and execution to maintain focus and alignment. This leader brings exceptional analytical rigor, business acumen, and communication skills to translate complex ideas into actionable plans. A collaborative and forward‑thinking approach enables the CSO to build consensus across departments and strengthen relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The executive cultivates a culture of excellence and values‑driven performance while developing and mentoring high‑performing teams. The CSO also plays a key role in business development, ensuring opportunities align with strategic priorities and community needs. Deeply attuned to the healthcare landscape, the executive advances initiatives that enhance patient care, organizational impact, and market presence. The CSO partners closely with the Board of Directors, contributing to governance discussions and serving on committees as needed.
Position Duties
Lead Enterprise Growth Strategy Partners with the President and Chief Executive Officer to define, develop, and execute Phoenix Children’s systemwide growth strategies and partnerships that advance the organization’s mission, vision, and long‑term business objectives.
Drive Market Intelligence and Strategic Insight Monitors and interprets market, industry, and competitive trends to identify opportunities, risks, and partnership prospects that inform strategic priorities and positioning.
Guide Organizational Performance and Strategic Alignment Assesses and aligns operational and strategic performance through organizational reviews, collaboration with senior leaders, and the integration of cohesive, data‑driven business plans.
Foster Leadership and Talent Development Serves as a trusted advisor and coach to executive leaders, cultivating a high‑performing, inclusive culture that champions innovation, accountability, and professional growth.
Engage Stakeholders and Strengthen Partnerships Builds alignment and collaboration across internal and external stakeholders—including executives, the Board, and community partners—to ensure clarity, commitment, and execution of system strategies.
Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.

Position Qualifications Education
Masters degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration –
Required
MBA with a focus on marketing –

Experience
Ten (10) years of executive leadership experience in a highly complex healthcare or related environment –

Experience within an Integrated health system, health insurance or ACO experience –
