This role will provide leadership and coordination of company financial planning, business strategy development, and budget management functions. You will ensure company accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles and serve as the co‑pilot to the CFO.

Base pay range $245,000.00/yr – $300,000.00/yr

Job Summary Provide leadership and coordination of company financial planning, business strategy development, and budget management functions and ensure company accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles. Also serves as co‑pilot to CFO.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Oversee functions of financial operations.

Provide strategy and tactical thinking as well as broad business insights. Lead the development of the financial strategy to report long‑term growth of the business while driving operating efficiencies.

Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision‑making issues affecting the organization (evaluation of capital investments, potential alliances, acquisitions and/or mergers, and investments).

Provide senior management with timely and accurate information designed for effective support of operating initiatives and strategic alternatives.

Prepare accurate and timely profit and loss statements and other financial reports.

Analyze trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments to predict future revenues and expenses.

Report organization’s finances to management and recommend resource utilization, margin improvement, cost saving, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.

Work with senior management to develop and provide financial and operations KPI information.

Lead the S&OP process and manage highly accurate financial forecasting.

Prepare monthly financial summary reports for senior management with highlights and variance explanations.

Review general ledger entries ensuring proper reporting of transactions.

Collaborate with the Corporate Controller on provisions and reserves impacting profit and loss.

Work closely with sales on trade spending and ROI evaluation.

Support HR with financial advice on strategy execution and labor cost management.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.

Design and maintain an organizational structure to accomplish departmental goals.

Serve as primary liaison with government and external organizations on financial issues.

Lead and develop the finance team, inspiring growth and adding value.

Qualifications and Requirements

Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business with strong accounting experience.

5–10 years of senior finance or accounting experience in a CPG manufacturing environment with standard costing and variance analysis.

Strong technical skills in finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principles (GAAP, IFRS, FP&A, forecasting).

Proficiency with automated financial and accounting reporting systems, Excel, PowerPoint, databases, complex ERP (preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV).

Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.

Experience with process improvement and project management.

Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports, statements, and projections.

Strong leadership ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects.

Collaborative and relationship building at all levels.

Strong business acumen and partnering sense.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
