Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach and Spa is a large complex of 1230 rooms and is currently looking for an Operations Assistant Manager – Food & Beverage to join our Food & Beverage Team. The Assistant Operations Manager - Food & Beverage will oversee multiple food and beverage areas within the hotel.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: scheduling, forecasting, training, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws as well as all operating procedures. Individuals must have strong communication and analytical skills and be able to work on a team and follow through on assigned tasks.
Essential Functions
Ability to multi‑task in a high‑pace environment that covers multiple outlets. Daily Tasks
Opening and closing of restaurant and bar operations; end‑of‑day reports and inventory requisitions. Performing daily walk‑throughs to ensure compliance with Department of Health regulations as well as Hyatt and property implemented standards of outlets. Have floor presence during service hours, supervising colleagues, training new employees on company procedures and policies, coaching and mentoring staff, documenting corrective action and having disciplinary discussions with colleagues. Ensuring that customers receive prompt attention from waitstaff and bartenders that align with standard operating procedures pertaining to outlet and brand standards. Coach and counsel colleagues on performance as needed to maintain and reflect both Hyatt and property implemented service standards and procedures. Weekly Tasks
Payroll and scheduling for food and beverage outlets; follow up on projects and outstanding requests from other departments. Act as liaison for the food and beverage spaces within the property, overseeing all public‑facing outlets and food and beverage managed areas. Resolve guest and customer complaints to maintain a high level of guest and customer satisfaction and quality, including responding to online feedback. Ensure that F&B employees are always attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, other employees and managers. Work with management team to implement policies and procedures to increase guest and colleague satisfaction. Assist in hiring, training and onboarding new colleagues in conjunction with the management team. Staying true to our Regency's purpose begins with creating meaningful experiences. 2+ years in food and beverage management, preferably with Hyatt Previous management experience is preferred but not required Experience working in a union environment is preferred Experience with various food and beverage systems (Simphony/EMC, RealTime, SevenRooms, Kronos, etc.) is valued, especially Hyatt systems Strong organizational skills, ability to work with a flexible schedule based upon business needs, and be a team player and dynamic leader High energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator with refined verbal and written communication skills, ability to provide exceptional customer service and improve the bottom line Excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) Professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, colleagues, and other departments All qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
