We are seeking a skilled and proactive

Systems Administrator I

to support and maintain the IT infrastructure, ensuring high levels of availability, performance, and security. This mid‑level position is ideal for a candidate with strong technical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting skills, and experience supporting server environments, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise systems. This position is and onsite role based out of the Columbia, MD Headquarters.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, maintain comp sys, servers, & NW equip

Monitor sys performance & troubleshoot SW, HW & NW issues.

Manage user accounts, permissions, & access controls.

Implement & enforce sec protocols, including firewalls, backups, & IDS

Perform regular sys updates, patches, & upgrades to improve functionality & security

Develop & maintain disaster recovery & data backup procedures

Provide tech spt & train end‑users, address IT‑related problems

Document sys configurations, policies, & maintenance procedures

Collaborate w/vendors & other IT professionals for sys improvements & implementations. Document sys configurations, changes, & SOP

Exp w/virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V).

Proficiency in MS Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, & O365

Familiarity w/cloud svcs (Azure) & hybrid cloud env.

Strong knowledge of NW fundamentals (TCP/IP), DNS, DNCP, VPN)

Exp w/backup disaster recovery & endpoint protection solutions.

Ability to work independently & collab in a fast env.

Qualifications

AWS/Azure certifications are a plus.

Knowledge of ITIL practices.

Familiarity with endpoint management tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune, JAMF).

Scripting and automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).

Participation in on‑call rotation.

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field—or equivalent experience.

CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security +.

5-7 years of experience in System Administration in a mixed (Windows/Mac) environment.

Participation in after hours on‑call rotation.

Salary Range: 70,000 - 80,000

The pay range is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. These considerations include, but are not limited to, government contract labor categories and wage scale, the extent and intricacy of the role’s responsibilities, the candidate’s educational background, their work experience, and the specific competencies crucial for success in the role.
