Responsibilities
Document claims files by accurately capturing and updating claims data/information in compliance with best practices for commercial property claims of moderate to high exposure and complexity.
Exercise judgment to determine policy verification and coverage determination by analyzing applicable coverage for claims and determining whether the loss falls within the coverage.
Develop case strategy to achieve timely resolution and escalate issues as appropriate.
Establish timely reserves and perform ongoing review throughout the claims cycle within authority limits by estimating and validating the value of claims.
Assess damages by calculating applicable damages or range of damages allowed by law.
Negotiate settlement of claims by establishing appropriate negotiation strategy and using available tools and resources within authority limits.
Meet quality standards by following best practices.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of experience in Claims or Insurance, OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 3+ years of experience in Claims or Insurance, OR
Completion of Zurich Claims Training Program and 3+ years of experience in Claims or Insurance, OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5+ years of experience in Claims or Insurance, AND
Must obtain and maintain required adjuster licenses
Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets and products
Preferred Qualifications
Property Claims handling experience
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
Solid time management, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
Experience collaborating in a team environment and building cross-functional working relationships
Adept in identifying and explaining complex financial and/or actuarial concepts
Ability to determine the scope and exposure for moderately complex claims
Understanding of the reserving process for indemnity and expense in analyzing the potential exposure of moderately complex claims
Ability to develop and execute a negotiation strategy and plan for resolution
Ability to identify subtleties in customer/client and/or business partner interactions
Ability to present information necessary to propose a claim resolution to stakeholders
Compensation and Benefits At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including office location, role, skill set, and experience. Candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range will be considered based on experience, skills, and education.
The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $58,700.00 - $96,200.00, with a 10% short-term incentive bonus eligibility.
