Job Summary:
The Managing Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of community-based residential programs and Adult Day Support programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. This role ensures that agency policies, procedures, and activities promote the social well‑being and safety of individuals supported in residential, shared living, and respite settings. The Managing Director reports to
TruCare’s Chief Operating Officer (COO)
and collaborates with the Core Services Department to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and agency standards and regulations while leading operations. This position requires 24/7 availability to address emerging issues and strong leadership skills to manage staff and maintain program quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Management & Compliance:
Oversee the operations of residential services and Adult Day Support program, including Medicaid Waiver and State Funded programs.
Ensure compliance with Federal, State (Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities), and Medicaid quality standards and regulations.
Conduct random onsite visits to residential homes to assess compliance and quality assurance.
Manage the annual license renewal process for all residential programs.
Policy Development & Process Improvement:
Review, develop, and implement policies and procedures related to quality improvement, training, and residential services.
Continuously assess workflows to identify opportunities for operational efficiency, cost reduction, and service enhancement.
Staff Management & Development:
Supervise Residential and Adult Day Support Supervisors and DD residential administrative staff.
Ensure staff training remains up-to-date with best practices in developmental disabilities and person-centered approaches.
Participate in interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
Operational Oversight & Crisis Response:
Ensure 24/7 coverage of residential services and Day Services and oversee crisis management procedures.
Serve as the escalation point for urgent matters, coordinating responses with relevant teams.
Oversee facilities maintenance and ensure proper documentation of individuals' money management and service delivery.
Foster a cooperative, team-oriented work environment and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with county agencies, contract clients, and other partners to support program success and expansion.
Procurement & Strategic Growth:
Develop and maintain relationships with contract clients and county stakeholders to support program expansion and sustainability.
Oversee procurement processes, including vendor selection, contract negotiations, and resource allocation.
Documentation & Reporting:
Monitor and ensure the accuracy and completeness of service documentation, individual support plans, and required records.
Prepare and analyze reports to ensure compliance and inform staffing decisions.
Leadership Role:
Serve as a member of the Senior Management Team, contributing to strategic decision-making and organizational development.
Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years working with individuals with developmental disabilities, including at least 3 years in an operations management role.
Certifications:
Maintain certifications such as CPR & First Aid, Medication Administration, and any Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) requirements.
Licensing:
Must maintain a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Background Check:
Pre-employment drug screening and FBI/BCI background check required. Applicants have the right to challenge the contents of their Criminal History Record Information.
Crisis Management:
Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and manage crisis situations.
Leadership & Communication:
Strong leadership and communication skills with demonstrated ability to manage teams, budgets, and operations.
