Job Summary WMC Health’s Section of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery is seeking a fellowship‑trained general surgeon specializing in trauma surgery and surgical critical care for our Level III Trauma Center at HAHV Hospital in Kingston, NY. This appointment is part of the integrated consortium of five trauma centers within the Hudson Valley and offers a faculty appointment at NYMC commensurate with qualifications, integration into academic components of medical student/surgical resident/fellow education, and research with rotations at our Level I and Level II trauma centers. The role includes opportunities to perform robotic and minimally invasive elective and emergency general surgery, care for trauma patients, and provide surgical critical care services.
Qualifications & Requirements Applicants must be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery and/or surgical critical care. Required qualifications include:
Demonstrated skills in emergency surgery, surgical critical care, and trauma patient care.
Record of teaching and research experience in health services, translational or basic science research.
M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy.
Completion of a surgical residency and a surgical critical care fellowship.
Ability to perform robotic and minimally invasive surgery.
Candidate Requirements Candidate will report directly to the Chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery and the Director of the Department of Surgery.
