This is with a private equity-backed industrial field services business providing precision machining & repair services, the business has completed more than five acquisitions and is on a strong path towards a successful exit in the coming years.

Position:

The VP of Corporate Development will lead key aspects of the company's acquisition and investment strategy, working closely with senior leadership to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic transactions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in M&A. Prior experience in Private Equity and Investment Banking is preferred.

This role requires an individual who is comfortable navigating complex acquisition processes, including market analysis, due diligence, valuation modeling, and deal structuring. The VP of Corporate Development will play a crucial role in shaping the company’s growth trajectory and ensuring the smooth integration of acquired businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a structured, data-driven approach to identify and evaluate acquisition opportunities.

Build and maintain a robust pipeline of targets in relevant end markets.

Source opportunities through proprietary networks, industry events, investment banks, private equity firms, and other intermediaries.

Lead financial modeling, valuation, and risk analysis to support strategic decision-making and deal structuring.

Oversee cross-functional due diligence, coordinating finance, operations, legal, and external advisors.

Serve as the primary liaison with target companies, guiding sellers—particularly founder-led businesses—through the transaction process.

Negotiate purchase agreements, deal structures, and key terms alongside executive leadership, private equity sponsors, and legal counsel.

Conduct market research and competitive analysis to refine M&A strategy and long-term investment priorities.

Monitor economic and industry trends to identify and recommend strategic growth opportunities.

Partner with senior executives, finance teams, and private equity sponsors to align investment objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

6–8+ years in corporate development, M&A, investment banking, or private equity.

Proven track record of sourcing, evaluating, and executing M&A transactions, including pipeline development.

Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex deal processes from evaluation to close.

Expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and deal structuring.

Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills, particularly with founder-led businesses and first-time sellers.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, private equity-backed environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling tools.

Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple transactions and competing priorities.
