Corporate Accounting Manager

Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, the Corporate Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing and reviewing the daily accounting operations of the team including preparation and review of general ledger entries and reconciliations, ensuring compliance with financial accounting policies and procedures and assisting in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee and supervise all corporate accounting duties, including the design of an organizational structure that will achieve the department’s goals and objectives.
Making sure members of the accounting team meet all financial reporting deadlines.
Responsible for monitoring all processes within the department and will be charged with providing oversight in finding ways to continue to streamline and make the monthly financial close process more efficient and accurate.
Supervise the preparation of depreciation analysis and the monthly fixed asset and depreciation expense reconciliation for the Oracle general ledger system.
Perform and/or supervise the bank and balance sheet accounts reconciliations on a monthly basis.
Performing fiscal year-end close activities and assisting with activities and requirements of external auditors.
Responds to inquiries and performs special project requests as requested by the Corporate Controller and other high-level managers.
Assist the Corporate Controller in the preparation and development of the annual 990 tax return information.
Collaborates with Accounts Payable, Payroll, FP&A and Reimbursement departments to support overall department goals and objectives.
Facilitate banking specific efforts associated with Positive Pay and other banking exceptions.
Assist with the monthly closing of the Accounts Payable module.
Supervise and review the monthly intercompany reconciliation.
13. Train accountants in Oracle and other accounting related software.
14. Other duties as assigned to meet organizational requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Required skills and experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting - CPA license (or in process) required
5+ years of progressive accounting experience; 2+ years of management experience preferred
An understanding of US GAAP, as well as other accounting concepts, procedures, standards, rules and regulations
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and ERP accounting software (Oracle preferred)
Strong understanding of accounting and budgeting
Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
Accuracy, precision and the capacity to evaluate large volumes of financial data
Ability to work under tight time frame for monthly financial closings
Knowledge of the healthcare industry is an asset
