About This Role At QISG, our Transmission Line teams play a vital role in the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of power across communities and regions. We design, build, maintain, and upgrade high‑voltage transmission infrastructure that supports the backbone of the electric grid. Our work involves both traditional methods and the latest industry innovations to deliver sustainable, cost‑effective, and reliable solutions for our customers.

What You’ll Do

Work on design aspects from project inception to completion on various transmission line projects.

Utilize 3‑D design software for transmission line design.

Demonstrate knowledge of quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.

Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work.

Research information in catalogs, specifications, corporate standards, or other reference material.

Learn and properly use the document management system and suggest improvements.

Learn and apply corporate standard engineering practices.

Bring potential project‑related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the responsible party.

Travel out of town for short periods as required by projects and assignments.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

Associate’s degree in Drafting & Design is preferred.

Experience in drafting disciplines with a background in civil/structural or transmission design is strongly preferred.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the electric utility industry performing detailed CAD/design for high‑voltage transmission line projects.

Experience with 3‑D design software (AutoCAD Inventor, SDS, etc.) is preferred.

Proficiency with Word processing, spreadsheets, and e‑mail software.

Extensive knowledge of various CADD programs.

Basic knowledge of the major components of transmission lines.

Basic oral and written communication skills.

Team‑oriented work style.

Effective communication with co‑workers.

Able to deal with ambiguity and able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and set priorities in a complex environment.
