Community Relations Director - Assisted Living What does the Community Relations Director do? Simply put, you are the brand ambassador of your assisted living/memory care community, charged with driving census (occupancy). You will give engaging and memorable community tours, market our community to the area to build our brand as “the place to live,” greet prospective residents and their families, visit other healthcare influencers in the market to build referral relationships, and more. In this job, every day you will…

Initiate and carry out marketing calls and complete inbound marketing presentations by contacting discharge planners, doctors’ offices, senior centers, other healthcare clinics, and other organizations. Answer inquiries, send brochures, and follow‑up to close the deal.

Meet census goals through ongoing communication and meet standards set by the Executive Director and regional sales leadership.

Conduct community tours, home visits, and assessments offering an overview of the services, lifestyle, convenience, and benefits of the community, following the company’s sales process, guidelines, and philosophy.

Document database records and paperwork; keep the Executive Director and department heads updated on inquiries, tours, outreach plans, and resident movements.

Represent the community in welcoming prospective residents, family members, referral sources, and the public in a positive, helpful, and caring manner, demonstrating community mission and philosophy.

Maintain accurate database records of reserved and occupied units, communicate this information to leadership, and prepare and distribute marketing reports in a timely and accurate manner.

Attend business and community events where referral sources, prospective residents, caregivers, and their advisors are in attendance.

Education & Experience Needed to Qualify A two‑year Associate Degree and a minimum of one year of sales and marketing experience (or two years) preferably in assisted living, memory care, or senior care. Experience with budgets, closing sales, and public speaking is required. Access to a personal car, ability to travel frequently, and a valid driver’s license are mandatory.
