The Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for leading the preparation and review of AMSC’s consolidated financial statements and SEC filings in accordance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements. This role oversees the monthly consolidation and reporting process, ensures compliance with SOX controls, and partners closely with finance leadership, external auditors, and cross‑functional teams. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and experience managing complex reporting requirements in a public‑company environment.
Functions
Manage the preparation and review of SEC filings and all supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
Oversee consolidation of global subsidiaries in Oracle, including review of intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translations.
Coordinate with international finance teams and third‑party accounting firms to review reporting packages and ensure timely submissions.
Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow, EPS, and Stockholders’ Equity statements.
Review and approve disclosure support schedules prepared by business units.
Lead implementation and maintenance of accounting policies for new and existing accounting standards; draft technical memos for management and auditors.
Ensure all documentation and controls are maintained for revenue recognition under ASC 606, including related SEC disclosures.
Oversee stock‑based compensation accounting, ensuring proper valuation, expense recognition, and reconciliation between Equity Edge and Equiniti systems.
Manage lease accounting through Lease Query software and ensure compliance with ASC 842.
Analyze accounts receivable aging and determine appropriate bad‑debt reserves and credit levels for customers.
Maintain and enforce SOX control compliance for financial reporting processes; identify and remediate deficiencies as necessary.
Serve as primary contact for external auditors during quarterly reviews, year‑end audits, and SOX testing.
Provide technical accounting guidance and training to finance and operational teams on complex transactions.
Develop and enhance internal reporting tools, templates, and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
Assist with ad‑hoc analysis and special projects, including due diligence and integration support for mergers and acquisitions.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
Master’s Degree or CPA preferred
5 to 8 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting or related experience in a public‑company environment.
Experience researching and resolving complex technical accounting issues for both U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting.
Public Accounting/CPA experience is a plus.
Experience with Oracle ERP and Lease Query a plus.
