Overview: SimVentions is seeking a talented Cybersecurity Engineer III to enhance our cybersecurity operations! As part of our team, you will be instrumental in conducting system hardening, vulnerability assessments, and ensuring compliance with DoD requirements. If you have a proven background in cybersecurity practices, particularly in Linux and Windows environments within DoD networks, we want to hear from you!
Position is contingent upon award of contract, anticipated in December of 2025.
Clearance: An ACTIVE Secret clearance (IT Level II Tier 5/Special-Sensitive Position) is required. Applicants will undergo a security investigation and may be subject to eligibility requirements for classified information access. US Citizenship is necessary for clearance eligibility.
Requirements:
- Deep knowledge of computer security and DoD cybersecurity policies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- One of the following DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III baseline certifications is required:
- CASP+ CE
- CCNP Security
- CISA
- CISSP (Associate)
- CISSP
- GCED
- GCIH
- CCSP
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages.
- Create and maintain essential security documentation, including:
- Authorization Boundary Diagram
- System Security Plan
- Privacy Impact Assessments
- Continuous Monitoring Plans
- Conduct annual FISMA assessments.
- Implement continuous monitoring for authorized systems.
- Utilize the ACAS tool for system testing and conduct vulnerability assessments.
- Analyze cybersecurity test scan results and document open findings.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
We seek candidates with at least 10 years of experience in the following areas:
- Computer security and compliance with military specifications.
- Risk Management Framework (RMF) and boundary defense techniques.
- Implementation of STIGs and vulnerability assessments using ACAS.
- Remediating vulnerabilities on Linux and Windows systems.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
Compensation: Compensation is determined by a range of factors, including experience and education. The projected annual salary for this role is between $90,000 - $160,000.
