This critical leadership role is focused on ensuring the security and reliability of the company's platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and leading a team that encompasses security operations (SecOps) and technical operations (NOC/SRE-lite). As the chief incident commander, the role involves end-to-end security posture management, from threat detection to incident response, and applying the same operational rigor to technical incidents. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, be passionate about building resilient systems, and demonstrate extreme ownership in protecting the platform and customers. Applicants for the Head of Security and Technical Operations position at the company should have 7-10+ years of combined, hands-on experience in security operations, incident response, and/or technical operations/SRE, with a minimum of 2 years in a formal people management role. The role requires deep expertise in modern security operations within a cloud-native environment, including threat detection, SIEM, SOAR, and EDR/MDR tooling. Technical operations expertise should include experience in incident management for non-security events and managing a 24/7 technical operations/NOC function. The candidate must possess strong leadership and soft skills, a calm and methodical demeanor, and a player-coach mentality. Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 is also essential.
