Are you a highly experienced Network Engineer with a passion for secure, scalable infrastructure design and implementation? We're looking for Network Engineers at the Senior and Expert level who thrive in complex, mission‑critical environments and bring deep knowledge of network architecture, cloud integration, and Network Access Control (NAC) technologies. The ideal candidate will bring at least 6 years of experience in enterprise network engineering, with hands‑on expertise in Cisco platforms, NAC implementations, and secure hybrid‑cloud network solutions. The location of this job is Herndon, VA. Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage complex IP networks (enterprise and service‑provider scale) Routing and switching including planning, configuring, and optimizing EIGRP, BGP, OSPF/ISIS; implement switching features including STP, LACP, VTP, and related services Plan and deliver MPLS/BGP transport services and integrations between service providers Develop network designs, implementation/migration plans, and technical documentation; brief designs to review boards Automate provisioning, configuration, and validation using tools such as Ansible and Python; contribute to continuous integration and test automation Operate at Tier 3/4 for complex incidents and lifecycle maintenance; perform upgrades and performance tuning Implement and support SD‑WAN/SDN, virtualization, and cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Harden networks and support security controls (firewalls, VPNs, ACLs); collaborate closely with cyber teams Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and best practices Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred and 6+ years of relevant experience In‑depth knowledge of network architecture, design, and implementation Proficiency with routing (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF/ISIS) and switching (STP, LACP, VTP) Experience with network automation, SD‑WAN/SDN, and cloud networking (AWS/Azure/GCP) Ability to create designs, implementation plans, and technical notes; strong briefing skills Experience deploying MPLS networks; proven ability to learn and master new technologies independently US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required Desired Experience
Certifications such as Network+, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIA, JNCIP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, RHCA, or similar Hands‑on experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and NAC profiling Knowledge of firewall and VPN technologies and management tools Experience with network virtualization and Software Defined Networking (SDN) platforms Background in securing complex network environments and implementing zero‑trust architectures Broad understanding of systems engineering and modern network design principles Do you know anyone for this position, or other positions open at The Swift Group?
