Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Linux System Engineer to support a classified geospatial intelligence program in
Rancho Bernardo, CA . The team is seeking a skilled administrator and security engineer with experience with Linux server design, build, administration and implementation of security controls to support a legacy modernization program.

Responsibilities of the Linux System Administrator
Actively maintain and develop all infrastructure technology to ensure necessary uptime service.
Engineer systems administration-related solutions for various operational and project needs.
Maintain best practices for managing systems and services across all managed environments.
Identify, analyze, and log performance issues for reporting and resolving exceptions.
Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, and hot fixes on servers, workstations, storage, and network hardware.
Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks.
Provide input to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment.
Monitor system performance and plan for capacity proactively.
Collaborate with other teams and members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.
Qualifications of the Linux System Administrator
Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance
3-5+ years of prior relevant RHEL and server administration experience
IAT II certification (Sec+, CYSA+, etc.), Linux+ highly preferred
Extensive knowledge of multiple specialties including operating systems, storage technologies, and peripherals.
Proficient in Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems administration (3+ years).
Experience supporting cyber security technologies including ACAS, Trellix, CrowdStrike, etc.
Experienced in integrating Linux with Windows Active Directory.
Familiar with VMWare and virtualization concepts.
Skilled in Shell, Perl, and/or PowerCLI/PowerShell scripting.
Solid understanding of protocols such as DNS and LDAP.
Knowledge of network infrastructure (i.e. OSPF, port security, port administration, routing protocols)
Experience with operating system update services such as YUM or DNF and RedHat Satellite.
Knowledgeable in technologies including Ansible modules and Trellix Anti-Virus.
Compensation of the Linux System Administrator
Total compensation based on experience level - $120,000 - $160,000+ (based on experience level)
