Sr DC Capex Procurement Manager - Energy infrastructure, Data Center Sourcing and Procurement Amazon is seeking a motivated and data‑driven Category Manager to support Americas data center expansion and infrastructure development. The ideal candidate should possess strong supply chain and procurement expertise, analytical and financial acumen, excellent communication capabilities, and a hands‑on passion for diving deep into data center capacity planning and construction processes. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate proven experience managing large‑scale supply chain and procurement improvement projects.

Role As a Category Manager for the Energy Infrastructure and Projects portfolio, you will create and implement sourcing strategies for energy infrastructure procurement categories and collaborate with internal business partners and suppliers to drive efficiencies, reduce risks, and optimize costs for Amazon. This role specifically requires candidates with Natural Gas Industry experience in the following areas:

Prior experience in natural gas trading operations and market dynamics

Knowledge of pipeline infrastructure including EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) and O&M (Operations & Maintenance) scope, commercial frameworks, and contract negotiations

Understanding of natural gas extraction, production, and transportation processes

Familiarity with upstream processes and natural gas value chain

You will develop mechanisms and metrics to ensure supplier accountability for performance and delivery. Success will be driven through competitive bidding, strategic negotiations, and comprehensive analysis of data and market trends for your category.

Key Requirements

Proven experience driving large‑scale process improvements with measurable results

Experience with energy infrastructure equipment and construction categories including natural gas infrastructure, long‑lead equipment (generators, turbines), and gas sourcing strategies for prime and backup power systems in data centers

Exceptional attention to detail with ability to manage multiple competing priorities

Strategic thinking with methodical execution capabilities

Demonstrated ability to influence teams in adopting innovative technologies

Adaptability in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments with continuous innovation focus

Commitment to professional and technical knowledge expansion

Strong analytical, financial, and quantitative skills with data‑driven decision making

General manager/owner mentality with willingness to tackle any necessary task

Deep understanding of products, business operations, and competitive landscape

Comprehensive planning abilities with consistent on‑time execution

Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of program, project or product management, or leading product implementation experience

8+ years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience

Experience in data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent

Experience in global supply chain management, managing cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced consumer electronics product company

Hands‑on experience with pipeline and gas infrastructure EPC and O&M projects

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field

Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies

Experience in negotiations with global suppliers with a proven track record in cost reduction

Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, supply chain and Tier 1 OEM partners

Experience practicing best‑in‑class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should‑cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, or equivalent)

Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies

Compensation The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
