Overview We’re partnering with a global energy leader to identify a
Data Scientist
with 3–5 years of professional experience developing advanced analytics solutions. This role sits at the intersection of data, engineering, and business — transforming complex energy and trading data into actionable insights that drive performance and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deploy statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and optimization frameworks to support decision-making across trading, operations, and asset performance.
Partner with cross-functional teams (engineering, trading, digital, and IT) to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions.
Build robust data pipelines and automate analytics processes using modern tools and cloud-based infrastructure.
Perform exploratory data analysis and data visualization to communicate trends, anomalies, and opportunities to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Validate and continuously improve model performance through experimentation and iteration.
Contribute to best practices in data governance, documentation, and reproducible science.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
3–5 years of hands‑on experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer.
Strong proficiency in
Python ,
SQL , and common data science libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
Experience with
data engineering and analytics tools
such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure ML, or AWS SageMaker.
Demonstrated ability to design, test, and deploy predictive models or optimization solutions in a production environment.
Excellent communication skills — able to translate data insights into business impact.
Nice to Have
Background in
energy, utilities, or commodities trading
analytics.
Experience integrating
forecasting ,
pricing , or
optimization
models into enterprise systems.
Familiarity with
Power BI ,
Tableau , or other visualization tools.
