Job Summary Under the direction of the Radiology Medical Director, the Mammography Technologist performs breast imaging procedures, ensures safe and quality services, and collaborates with the imaging team to improve clinical practice.
Responsibilities
Perform breast imaging procedures and related techniques, producing data for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
Ensure services are performed safely and comply with guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Serve as part of the imaging center team and provide feedback for improved clinical practice.
Requirements
Up to 3 years experience as a Mammography Technologist.
Associate’s Degree in Radiology or graduate of an accredited two‑year radiology program.
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography with a current valid registration.
Advanced mammography registration (IDTF or within 12 months for non‑IDTF centers).
State licensure for the state in which the candidate practices.
Skills & Abilities
Operation of mammography equipment and ancillary equipment.
Independent work and multitasking.
Accurate and concise documentation.
Understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
Knowledge of computer applications, including billing systems, digital archiving, and data retrieval.
