The Inflammation biology group is looking for a highly motivated **Post-Doctoral Scientist** to pursue cutting-edge discovery and impactful translational work in immunology and chronic inflammatory diseases. The successful candidate will initiate an independent research project to investigate pathogenic mechanisms of inflammatory disorders, characterize the MOAs of novel therapeutics, and spearhead therapeutic target identification. **Responsibilities:** Furthermore, the candidate will spearhead discovery efforts for the identification of novel therapeutic targets and determine the role of cell-cell interactions in regulating disease pathogenesis.**Basic Qualifications:** Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills and strong organizational skills are required.**Preferred Qualifications:**Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background and hands-on experience in molecular and/or cellular immunology, inflammatory diseases, or immune modulation strategies.Experience with mouse pre-clinical models of disease is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with mouse handling experience and proficiency with in-vivo techniques such as immunizations, in-life procedures, and tissue harvesting.Demonstrates proficiency in wet lab immunology techniques, including development and implementation of in-vitro cell based functional assays, transfection / transduction of primary cells and cell lines, multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, Luminex/MSD assays, and other immunoassays.Familiarity with primary immune cell culture (B cell / T cell stimulation, BMDM differentiation) is strongly preferred.The individual will have demonstrable skills and experience in leading focused hypothesis-driven biological research, as exemplified by quality publications.Gilead Sciences will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
