Cedarhurst Senior Living . Cedarhurst of Salina, a regional healthcare provider, seeks a service‑minded, career‑oriented individual to serve as Dining Services Director in our community.

Base pay range: $26.00/hr - $27.00/hr.

Responsibilities

Supervising 10‑15 employees in the day‑to‑day presentation of dining services specifically for seniors.

Scheduling staff on an ongoing basis and providing coverage when necessary.

Maintaining good communication with vendors, community leadership, and regional dining services teams.

Supporting catering, room service, special party needs, and marketing functions.

Ordering, accounting for, and maintaining food inventories within budget; ensuring food and supply costs stay controlled.

Instructing employees on operation, maintenance, and cleaning of kitchen equipment.

Providing hands‑on training and demonstrating thorough knowledge of all food‑service positions.

Understanding all dining‑service shifts and individual resident dining needs.

Creating recipes that dietary staff can follow.

Handling food safely and appropriately.

Recruiting, orienting, and hiring new dining‑service staff.

Assisting the Executive Director with monthly staff in‑service meetings and committee participation.

Assisting with sales/marketing procedures to enhance satisfaction and promote community events.

Managing the company credit card and filing receipts promptly.

Maintaining proper food temperatures and equipment functionality.

Applying basic math concepts to practical situations.

Upholding safety standards, infection‑control guidelines, and food‑safety licensing requirements.

Communicating residents’ care information to families with empathy and respect.

Addressing conflict and ensuring positive relationships among residents, families, and staff.

Meeting physical demands such as standing, moving, lifting up to 50 lb independently (and up to 200 lb with assistance).

Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associate degree with culinary training or 3‑5 years of culinary experience.

Applicable state/county licensure.

Food Manager Certification (required).

CPR or BLS certification (preferred).Previous staff‑management or coaching experience with dining‑services teams preferred.

Experience in a senior‑living community preferred.

Proficiency in Internet browsers, Microsoft Office, EHR systems, and HR systems.
