SY Maintenance Technician / Facility Maintenance (Kakaako - Oahu)
Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) is looking for a highly motivated, reliable, and trustworthy individual to repair and maintain a commercial building in Kakaako, Oahu. The role involves performing preventive maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, and grounds maintenance. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and pass a background check. Previous experience as a maintenance technician is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs: plumbing, electrical, mechanical and HVAC, painting, drywall, grounds maintenance.
Provide excellent customer service to property managers, vendors, and residents.
Lift, push, pull a minimum of 50 lbs and work while walking, bending, and stretching during shift.
Ensure mechanical equipment and systems are operating correctly and fix as necessary.
Create and maintain work orders and purchase orders.
Perform any additional maintenance tasks as required by HBM supervisor/property management.
Skills / Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
Background check clearance
Flexible schedule availability (including after-hours, weekends, holidays)
General preventive maintenance experience: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall
Troubleshooting ability
Mechanical aptitude
Strong verbal and written instructions in English
Good public relations and communication skills
Customer service oriented
Strong organization and manual labor skills (lift up to 50 lbs, reach overhead, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, step)
Willingness to learn and improve
Schedule Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Open availability for after‑hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Compensation $24.00 – $26.00 per hour.
