We curate vehicles submitted by our audience and craft transparent auction listings that present the vehicles as they arewithout superlatives or dubious used?car?lot language. Were transitioning from a PHP/WordPress application to microservices and a front?end built using modern web technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript, AWS, Elasticsearch, and React. We also build and maintain native mobile applications for both iOS and Android. We believe in crafting simple, elegant solutions to solve complex problems. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer with experience in AWS serverless technologies and modern frontend technology stacks. In this role, you will be a key contributor to designing, developing, and deploying cutting?edge cloud?native applications. You will work within an agile team, collaborating closely with product managers, architects, designers, and other engineers to deliver high?quality, high?performance solutions that meet the evolving needs of our business. Responsibilities Develop and deploy frontend applications using React, Next, and AWS Amplify Hosting. Develop and deploy robust, scalable, and secure serverless applications using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, and Step Functions. Implement event?driven microservices, ensuring loose coupling, high availability, and fault tolerance. Develop infrastructure as code using AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit) with TypeScript. Implement core features. Collaborate with cross?functional teams to define technical requirements, scope projects, and provide estimates. Optimize application performance and operational efficiency of serverless solutions. Conduct code reviews and help foster a culture of technical excellence. Stay current with emerging AWS services and serverless patterns, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent real?world experience and knowledge of CS fundamentals. 3+ years of professional software development experience, with some experience on cloud?native applications. Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js. Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and various frontend frameworks. Understanding of event?driven architecture patterns. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Excellent problem?solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in an agile, fast?paced, and collaborative environment. AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Developer). Experience with Amplify and/or Amplify Hosting.
This is a full?time, remote position. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time. In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in California or New York. The reasonable estimate, if hired in California or New York, is $116,000-$125,000. For all other locations not listed above, the reasonable estimate is $104,000-$125,000. A final decision on the successful candidates starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non?discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
