Microsoft's Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! CSCP's vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud and AI capabilities at scale. Our mission is to deliver the world's computer with an industry-leading supply chain. The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide.
Responsibilities Sourcing management
Engage with cross-functional leadership including product design, quality, and business teams to determine best design solution and supply base to deliver that solution at optimal Supply Chain, Sustainability, and Cost.
Lead a supplier selection process to verify appropriate supplier is chosen with suitable capabilities for the given product while ensuring all potential suppliers meet the business, technical, and financial requirements of the program.
Manage contracting activities with Legal and Contracts Management team and ensure contracts reflect appropriate business terms, IP protection, etc.
Cost and operations management
Build multi-sourcing strategy to mitigate risk and drive appropriate competition.
Identify cost reduction opportunities and drive suppliers for cost competitiveness with cost modelling and other sourcing tools.
Manage ad-hoc cost issues e.g., tariffs / import export cost, cost inflation.
Drive continuous improvement of all critical areas around supply, manufacturing, and cost.
Manage NPI (New Product Introduction) development builds until mature enough to transition to sustaining sourcing team.
Manage supplier performance and compliance
Develop and enable introduction of new suppliers.
Supervise compliance with MSFT requirements for security, social responsibility, and payment terms.
Ensure suppliers deliver timely corrective actions from business review / audits.
Support and meet business cost metrics through the development process.
Qualifications Required qualifications
Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 3+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles
OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 4+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles
OR equivalent experience.
4+ years of experience with supply chain.
3+ years of experience collaborating with development engineers.
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred qualifications
8+ years experiences in procurement, supply chain, operations areas.
Demonstrated experience in leading cross functional teams.
Experience in cloud or high-tech supply chain experience is preferred.
Compensation Sourcing Engineering IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. Location specific ranges: San Francisco Bay area $158,400 – $258,000 per year, New York City metropolitan area $158,400 – $258,000 per year.
