As an Assistant Director of Engineering, you will provide technical and administrative assistance to the Director of Engineering and support the operational aspects of the Engineering Department. Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Engineering in the upkeep of preventative maintenance, including logging work, scheduling, and assigning projects. Assist in procurement of supplies and issuance of purchase orders. Review work orders and assign work by priority. Maintain up-to-date inventories of heating, lighting, power and repair supplies. Respond to guest requests. Work with the Engineering staff on a shift basis and coordinate their activities. Act as the full responsible person for the Engineering Department in the absence of the Director of Engineering. Understand Omni’s fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation plans. Understand Omni’s job scenarios. Maintain the inspection program consistently. Ensure all safety and security policies and procedures are followed. Perform inspections and repairs anywhere on or off hotel property. Familiar with Omni’s Systems and Services procedures. Qualifications
Minimum two years of hotel engineering or other sufficient building equipment maintenance leadership experience. Hotel engineering leadership strongly preferred. Experience with electrical and HVAC systems and working knowledge of powered and handheld tools. Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English; able to communicate with guests and staff professionally and with empathy. Proven leadership skills; able to direct, develop and motivate staff. Professional business appearance, attitude, and performance. Ability to teach employees the importance of greeting guests and solving requests courteously. Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm, welcoming demeanor. Excellent time-management skills and keen eye for detail. Computer oriented; able to meet deadlines and adhere to company policies. Willing to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays. Stand or walk for extended periods; lift up to 50 lb without assistance. 100% mobility in all hotel areas and grounds. Must be able to climb ladders, work in high places and confined areas. Knowledge of electric saws, hand tools, drills and grinders. Seniority Level
