Join The Haskell Company as a Reality Capture & Digital Layout Specialist. In this role
you will utilize VDC workflows
for digital layout, laser scanning, drone operations, and more. Travel to jobsites is required to conduct laser scanning and drone surveying and set up controls.
Job Responsibilities
Digital Layout – Provide model‑based layout coordinates to field surveying teams onsite for layout of self‑perform concrete, steel, utilities, and other systems.
Reality Capture – Scan, process, register, and publish laser scan point cloud data for coordination.
Drone Operations – Create flight plans, conduct flights, and process drone data.
3D Modeling – Convert point cloud information to 3D Revit models for design and construction detailing, including creation of custom parametric Revit families.
Innovation – Support innovation through research and testing of new technologies.
Standards – Work closely with the Manager of Reality Capture & Digital Layout to develop and maintain standards relating to process and procedures.
Support Virtual Construction staff as needed:
Coordination – Develop and maintain integrated project coordination models using Navisworks software and create clash detection reports.
Collaboration – Participate in virtual collaboration meetings, leveraging the coordination model as a decision‑making tool.
Estimating – Extract quantity data from Revit BIM for estimating teams, cross‑referencing contract drawings and specifications.
Business Development & Scheduling – Create 4D/5D construction sequence animations using Navisworks, Synchro, and Lumion.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Technology.
1–3 years of experience in BIM/VDC technologies in the AEC industry.
Qualifications
Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, laser scanning equipment, and Microsoft Office.
Experience with Trimble, Faro, or Leica laser scanners.
Experience with Trimble or Leica robotic total stations.
Experience with drones.
Proficiency with Autodesk Point Layout, ReCap, Navisworks Manage, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Civil3D, Trimble Business Center, RealWorks, and Leica Cyclone scan registration software.
Strong organizational and multi‑deadline management skills.
Understanding of AEC industry and project workflows.
Understanding of laser scanning and surveying fundamentals.
Understanding of responsibilities of delivery team members.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
