As an Associate Structural – Transmission Line Engineer you will support global transmission projects, perform design engineering and analysis of transmission line work, and contribute to large, extensive 345kV+ rebuild and greenfield projects, including trending technologies such as HVDC and 765kV. Key Responsibilities
Support global transmission projects performing design engineering and analysis of transmission line work. Support large, extensive 345kV+ rebuild and greenfield projects, including trending technologies like HVDC and 765kV. Collect and assimilate data for engineering work. Perform research and prepare calculations in accordance with Black & Veatch and industry standards. Develop recommendations for equipment and materials. Understand and work successfully within budget, project schedule, and quality requirements. May assist with providing guidance to engineering team members. Maintain positive client relations and assist with business development activities. Continuously learn and update knowledge of departmental design guides, standards, codes and Black & Veatch policies. Prepare and verify engineering deliverables, perform research and develop recommendations, and prepare engineering calculations following standard methods. Coordinate with others as assigned by supervisor or project leadership. Seek guidance on design and interdisciplinary coordination. Focus on internal client needs and base understanding of external client drivers; may provide support to business development or pursuit activities. Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with utility‑scale projects. Experience with PLS‑CADD, PLS‑Pole, LPile, MFAD, Sag10 or Ultralite. Basic structural steel and concrete experience using 3D analysis and design software. Solid experience using EXCEL or similar spreadsheets and MathCAD design templates. Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program. Minimum of 1 year related work experience. Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements such as criminal/civil background check, drug screen and motor vehicle records search. Work Environment and Physical Demands
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance and work assignments. Salary Plan
