The Creative Marketing Director will oversee all facets of creative direction, brand development, and content strategy at Blue Heron. They will define the creative vision, strengthen brand positioning, and ensure alignment across design, marketing, PR, and digital channels. Full-time Key Responsibilities

Creative & Brand Voice Leadership – Provide visionary leadership to the creative and content teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Lead and mentor graphic designers, content producers, copywriters and other creative staff to deliver world‑class design and storytelling. Define project scope, priorities, and timelines, ensuring resources are effectively allocated to meet deadlines and objectives – from full campaigns to individual tasks. Implement creative best practices and design systems to enhance efficiency and quality. Brand strategy & positioning – Develop and maintain brand guidelines and messaging architecture ensuring consistency across all internal and external communications; conduct brand audits and competitive analyses to strengthen differentiation and market positioning; partner with executive leadership to ensure the brand’s creative direction supports business growth objectives. Content & campaign strategy, calendarization & production – Oversee all campaign planning, develop communications calendar and content creation, including photo, video, and storytelling assets, ensuring alignment with brand vision and guidelines; act as an individual contributor in addition to leading the team; collaborate with internal and external production partners to manage the full lifecycle of creative content; lead the development of the content calendar, integrating thought leadership, SEO/SEM strategy, and cross‑channel storytelling; ensure content performance is measured, analyzed, and optimized for engagement and brand impact. Marketing collateral – Direct design and production of compelling marketing materials for both print and digital platforms (advertising, brochures, social, email, signage, and web); partner with Sales teams to ensure all collateral supports strategic objectives and drives measurable results; elevate creative campaigns through strong conceptual thinking and storytelling that reflects Blue Heron’s design ethos. Digital experience & social media – Lead the creative vision for Blue Heron’s digital presence, including website design, UX/UI enhancements, and campaign landing pages; oversee organic social media strategy and ensure cohesive visual and narrative execution across all platforms; collaborate with Digital Marketing and PR teams on influencer and community engagement initiatives to grow brand awareness. Public relations & communications – Execute PR strategy and guide PR specialist and partner agency to ensure media and communications are on brand; partner with executive leadership to craft narratives that enhance the company’s reputation and thought leadership presence; execute internal communications tactics through PR specialist. Cross‑functional collaboration – Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as architectural and interior design teams to produce visuals and creative assets that communicate design intent and elevate client experiences; work closely with all Sales and Marketing Operations teams to align creative output with data insights, CRM workflows, and automation processes. Budget management & quality assurance – Manage creative budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to maximize ROI and maintain high production standards; implement quality control processes to ensure all creative work meets Blue Heron’s exacting standards of design and execution. Software & tools – Maintain proficiency in design and production tools (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, PremierePro, WordPress, MS Office); identify opportunities to streamline workflows and integrate new AI technologies to enhance creative output. Requirements

Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Graphic Design, Visual Design or Art Direction. Prior experience in a leadership or managerial role, overseeing a design team and delivering successful design projects. Ability to adapt to brand standards and understand the importance of a strong brand identity. At least 8+ years of experience managing designers’ workload, deadlines, and skills. Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) and WordPress, Social Media Platforms. Highly proficient in MS Office (especially PowerPoint). Deadline‑oriented with solid organizational skills that enable quick turnaround times. Flexible professional with a can‑do outlook who demonstrates mentorship with designers. Capable of working successfully within a team structure. Desire to continue to grow their craft. Soft Skills
