Overview Barton Malow is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to work on construction projects in the Greater Orlando, Florida area. This role will oversee comprehensive project management from the pre‑construction phase through final closeout, ensuring safe, timely construction within the designated design and budget.
Responsibilities
Procurement
Develop bidders list and analyze information in CPS; identify local market capabilities.
Create overall bidding strategy for projects.
Manage distribution of bidding documents and tracking of bidders.
Organize and conduct pre‑bid meetings.
Manage bidder question process.
Develop work scopes and mentor others on creation.
Create front‑end documents for bidding based on owner contract requirements.
Receive and evaluate bids; conduct post‑bid reviews.
Write subcontracts (standard and complex types).
Planning
Develop complex project schedules and activity logic with minimal assistance.
Design site logistics plans with the superintendent.
Create multi‑element cash flow and manpower projections at various stages.
Prepare constructability reviews to assess completeness of documents.
Review estimates from the pre‑construction group for potential scope gaps.
Set up jobsite mobilization, including trailer and staff.
Field Operations
Establish and enforce safety plans and culture on site.
Ensure timely completion of punch list processes.
Assist with labor relations and union interactions.
Implement emergency crisis procedures and staff training.
Coordinate owner equipment logistics.
Facilitate mechanical/electrical overhead coordination and BIM processes.
Cost Management
Develop and manage general conditions budgets; update projections monthly.
Define and minimize non‑reimbursables based on contract interpretation.
Log trade budgets into Prolog.
Review budget entries and accuracy of reports.
Monitor project costs and change management effectiveness.
Handle creation of cost items in Prolog and issuance to contractors.
Process changes to owner agreements.
Support jobsite cash management and profit monitoring.
Management
Lead project team meetings.
Supervise and mentor jobsite staff.
Ensure RFIs and submittals are processed by engineering staff.
Implement office procedures, filing systems, correspondence formats, and close‑out documents.
Serve as interface to code officials for agency acceptance.
Assist in pursuing repeat and new business opportunities.
Sustain responses to RFPs and prepare presentations for new projects.
Communicate with Architect/Engineer on site relations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
10+ years of experience in GC/CM Construction Management.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
