What We're Looking For This opportunity requires assisting in the production and modification of transportation roadway design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects. You will perform research, development, calculations, design and delivery in partnership with the project team, applying engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity.
What You'll Do
Complete assigned work within the schedule and hours provided.
Prepare and/or modify project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
Develop project quantities and assist with cost estimate development.
Assist engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
Self‑sufficiently complete tasks including research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, or
Master’s degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience.
What You'll Bring
Proficiency in developing complex roadway & intersection alignments/layouts, right‑of‑way, and drainage plans.
Experience efficiently generating cross‑sections & profiles in MicroStation OpenRoads.
GDOT PDP experience and knowledge of GDOT’s PPG and EDG.
Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, AutoCAD, or other software as required.
Self‑motivated individual who works well independently and in a team‑oriented environment.
What We Prefer
Georgia or Tennessee Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
Master's degree in Engineering.
Proficiency in MicroStation OpenRoads.
