Patient Safety Specialist

About the Role The Patient Safety Specialist collaborates across JHBMC departments and throughout the Johns Hopkins Health System to assess and promote a culture of patient safety. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient safety principles throughout the center. You will develop professional relationships with the interdisciplinary care team and work with leadership and staff to integrate patient safety principles into current and future practice.

Requirements
5 years of clinical experience, including a minimum of 2 years in leadership or program/project management
Master’s degree in a relevant clinical profession (or higher degree if required by licensing board)
State board licensure in the relevant profession
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma methodologies
Knowledge of CUSP methodologies
Preferred
Leadership participation in a CUSP team
Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt or higher and training in Design Thinking, Human Factors, and CUSP methodologies
Certification in Patient Safety (required within 2 years if not already certified)
Professional certification in the clinical area of assignment
Proficiency in EPIC preferred
Proficiency in RL6 Solutions preferred

Salary Range Minimum /hour – Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
