We seek an Industrial Electronics Consultant for our large format 3D printer. This is an in-person contract position with potential to full-time perm. About Creative 3D Technologies (C3DT)

Qualifications/Experience Requirements

Industrial Machinery Electronics Experience : 5+ years designing or troubleshooting electronics for industrial equipment, such as CNC machines, robotic arms, or automated manufacturing systems, with a focus on high-reliability circuits. CAN Bus Expertise : In-depth knowledge of CAN bus systems (e.g., CANopen, CAN-FD) for real-time control in industrial applications, including signal integrity analysis, bus arbitration, and integration with motor controllers or sensors. BigTreeTech or Similar Hardware Knowledge : Experience with BigTreeTech boards (e.g., SKR, Octopus) or comparable embedded systems (e.g., STM32, ARM-based controllers) used in precision machinery, including power management and firmware interfacing. Power Electronics and Motor Control : Proficiency in designing and diagnosing high-current circuits for stepper motors, servos, or BLDC motors, including thermal management, EMI mitigation, and protection circuits (e.g., overcurrent, ESD). Schematic and PCB Analysis : Expertise in reviewing schematics and PCB layouts for industrial-grade reliability, ensuring compliance with standards like IPC-A-610 or UL for high-voltage safety. Diagnostics and Testing : Skilled in using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot noise, grounding issues, or component failures in complex systems. Industrial Standards and Compliance : Familiarity with industrial certifications (e.g., CE, ISO 13849 for functional safety) and experience ensuring electronics meet environmental standards (e.g., vibration, temperature extremes). Relevant Education : Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced coursework or certifications in industrial automation, embedded systems, or power electronics. Consulting/Industry Experience : Proven consulting for manufacturers of CNC machines, industrial 3D printers, or automation systems, with examples of optimizing electronics for uptime or cost efficiency. Availability and Soft Skills : Willingness to perform on-site assessments; clear communication for delivering detailed reports and collaborating with mechanical teams. Seniority level
