Job Summary The Sr. Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the work of several technicians as well as simultaneously managing the production of multiple construction (repair) projects that are generally outsourced to subcontractors. This position takes the lead in collaborating with subcontractors in determining scope of work and price negotiations. The Sr. Superintendent reports directly to the Branch Manager or Regional Operations Manager and interfaces regularly with other departments as required.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborates and communicates effectively with adjusters, customers, co-workers and contractors – articulating scope of work, expectations, timelines.

Negotiates pricing, confers and obtains approval to proceed from Branch Manager, National Operations Manager, and/or Regional Operations Manager.

Creates cost estimates for supplies, materials and other project costs.

Provides scope and direction of work performed by subcontractors to ensure work performed as agreed to and to customer satisfaction.

Recommends and implements changes in the operation of projects as necessary to meet construction budgets and deadlines.

Coordinates delivery of materials and equipment with suppliers and vendors.

Develops means of tracking and monitoring subcontractor work; follows up regularly and updates job records.

Provides Project Managers or Project Directors budgets and schedules for repair projects prior to commencement of work.

Reviews all project related documents and work orders and ensures delivery to appropriate parties in order to bill in a timely manner.

Manages and maintains job budgets and schedules.

Creates and maintains schedule for subcontractors performing work on the jobs assigned.

Evaluates subcontractor performance, reports deficiencies, and addresses corrective actions.

Ensures Construction Superintendent obtains necessary permits or city licenses through local agencies as necessary.

Reviews and approves paperwork and billing promptly.

Provides regular reporting to management on job site operations (schedules, performance, personnel).

Supports the Company’s safe workplace policies and practices and promotes adherence.

Experience / Requirements

Experience in commercial construction performing supervisory or superintendent duties, specific to construction and/or restoration/mitigation loss.

Hands‑on experience in defining projects budgets, including tracking, monitoring and reporting.

Requires a valid driver’s license with driving record in good standing.

Industry related certifications are a plus.

Experience in developing and maintaining strong customer relations, building on company reputation.

Ability to communicate (verbal and written) at all levels.

Possess excellent time management skills, can set priorities and meet deadlines.

Computer experience in MS Outlook and other programs; can produce basic Excel and Word documents. Xactimate is a plus.

Safety Requirements

Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Required PPE may include gloves, masks, goggles, hard hats, and safety footwear. All employees must wear PPE as required for their specific roles and job site conditions.

Ergonomic practices: Practice ergonomic principles to prevent musculoskeletal disorders. This includes proper desk setup, using adjustable chairs, and maintaining good posture while seated.

Office safety protocols: Adhere to established office safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment. This includes proper use of office equipment and ensuring workspaces are free from clutter to prevent trips and falls.

Safety training: Complete all mandatory safety training sessions, including but not limited to hazard communication, emergency response, and safe equipment handling.

Reporting safety concerns: Ability to identify and immediately report any unsafe conditions, hazards, incidents or injuries to supervisors without fear of retaliation.

Emergency procedures: Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures relevant to your specific job site, including evacuation routes, and emergency contacts.

Physical Requirements

Lifting and carrying materials or equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. with assistance.

Physical activities requiring walking, bending, reaching, crouching, kneeling, climbing, squatting, crawling, lifting above shoulder, reaching and twisting.

Sitting and standing: Prolonged sitting or standing required (in office, driving and/or at job sites). Regular alternating between sitting and standing.

Repetitive motions: Continuous repetitive motion and tasks involving left/right hand movement (computer/mouse), wrists, or arms (e.g., typing, data entry).

Machinery operation: Capacity to operate machinery and tools as required by job tasks, which may involve fine motor skills and hand‑eye coordination.

Visual ability: Requirement for clear vision (e.g., close work, computer use, eye coordination).

Working Conditions Office Environment

Indoor office setting for corporate roles, including working with standard office equipment (computers, phones, printers). May involve regular meetings, (in person or Zoom) and collaboration with team members.

Field Environment

Outdoor fieldwork at restoration sites, which may include residential, commercial, or industrial properties. Duties may involve exposure to different weather conditions (sun, rain, snow, heat).

Hazardous Environments

Potential exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, or contaminants specific to restoration work, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and use of PPE.

Work after hours and weekends given our 24/7 business operations.

Travel Requirements

May include travel to and from job sites, requiring the use of company vehicles. Possibility of attending out‑of‑town training or conferences.
