Job Description
The Network Administrator will administer and oversee the implementation, organization, and troubleshooting of the network, hardware, and maintain the organizations network systems.
Responsibilities
Implementing, maintaining and overseeing the security of networks, systems, and data
Developing and enforcing the company’s security policies and procedures
Identifying and mitigating potential security risks and vulnerabilities
Performing regular audits to ensure that systems and networks are operating securely
Providing training and guidance to staff on information security best practices
Managing user access control and authentication
Responding to security breaches and incidents and conducting thorough investigations into what occurred
Setup and administration of Checkpoint firewalls
Keeping up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and control measures
Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards for information security
Designing and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery plans
Monitors the assigned network, ensuring optimal function and minimal downtime.
Monitors and analyzes network load including traffic and utilization trends.
Ensures networks are protected from physical harm, viruses, unauthorized users, and damage to data by developing and monitoring security procedures or collaborating with network security staff.
Drafts checklists, processes, and support trees, and knowledge bases for help desk and other support staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Adherent to all Federal and Local Safety laws
Follow T5 data center corporate policies and procedures
All other duties consistent with your role as you may be assigned by T5FM management
Travel Requirements
~25-30%
Valid passport required
Qualifications Qualifications
Education and Experience
Minimum 2 years’ previous experience working in complex high availability customer data center network environments, required
Fortinet NSE4 is a plus but not required.
Experience working for an MSP is nice to have but not required.
CompTIA NET+ and Sec+ are a plus but not required.
Relevant current IT certifications are a plus but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies
Familiar with inside plant cabling tools, power tools, ticketing systems, and escalation procedures, required
Understanding of data center infrastructure systems and typical requirements, required
Fundamental understanding of network principles, required
Functional knowledge of server, network, and infrastructure technology, required
Excellent business professional oral and written communication skills, required
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with colleagues, management, outside contractors, and customers, required
Must have the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously, required
Hands-on experience with Fortinet products, including FortiGate, FortiAP and FortiSwitch.
Proven experience in Fortinet configurations and network security implementations.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Experience with various storage technologies, including SAN and NAS from various vendors.
Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems encryption, and identity management.
Experience in designing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper‑V, Nutanix and XCP‑NG.
Working knowledge of Windows Server and Linux.
Working knowledge of Cisco/Meraki switching and wireless.
