About the Team The Me@Campus Core teams are responsible for the centralized platforms and processes leveraged by the Me@Campus mobile and desktop applications; a single, integrated experience for our campus-based associates. The Core Platforms team is responsible for all core services and integrations leveraged by the Me@Campus mobile and desktop core applications. This responsibility includes a wide variety of different technologies in the areas of application development, deployment, infrastructure management, observability and telemetry, performance testing, and many more.
About the Role As a Staff Full Stack Engineer at Walmart, you will play a key role in architecting and delivering highly scalable and performant applications that power both customer‑facing and associate‑facing experiences. You will leverage modern frontend and backend technologies to build seamless web and mobile applications, working closely with cross‑functional teams to define technical direction, mentor engineers, and drive engineering excellence across the stack.
Key Responsibilities
Design and build full stack applications using React Native (mobile and web)
Architect and implement scalable backend services and APIs (REST, GraphQL).
Model and optimize NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Couchbase, or similar) for high‑availability and large‑scale workloads.
Drive technical design discussions, code reviews, and platform‑wide improvements.
Ensure high standards of performance, security, accessibility, and scalability across applications.
Partner with product managers, designers, and backend teams to deliver end‑to‑end features.
Integrate CI/CD, automated testing, and monitoring into the development workflow.
Mentor engineers and contribute to technical strategy for web and mobile platforms.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
8+ years of professional software development experience, with deep expertise in full stack development.
Advanced proficiency in React Native (iOS/Android) and React Hooks for modern frontend development.
Strong backend development skills with experience in REST APIs and GraphQL.
Hands‑on expertise with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, or equivalent).
Solid understanding of modern JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js runtime.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and cloud deployments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Proven ability to design scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with state management libraries (Redux, Apollo Client).
Experience with Cypress and automation frameworks.
Experience with Agentic AI Frameworks will be great.
Familiarity with microservices and event‑driven architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub).
Knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) alongside NoSQL systems.
Strong understanding of caching, performance tuning, and monitoring tools.
Contributions to open‑source frameworks or libraries.
