STV is seeking a Survey Party Chief for our Survey Group in Dallas or Fort Worth, TX.
Qualifications
Must have at least 1-3 years of experience with Altas, Boundaries, Construction Staking and Topographic Surveys.
Must be able to operate all survey equipment proficiently including but not limited to: Trimble Robotic Total stations, Trimble GPS equipment, levels along with basic computer operating skills.
Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment, read and understand plats and construction plans, and interact professionally with clients or their representatives and landowners.
Must possess a proven work history, strong work ethic, team‑player attitude and be able to multi‑task while directing multiple field personnel to meet client‑driven deadlines.
Must possess the ability to problem‑solve and think outside the box.
Ability to walk long distances over a wide variety of terrains while carrying up to 50 lbs. in all weather conditions.
Minimum of a high school diploma/GED required.
TXDOT experience is a plus.
Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record that meets our insurance requirements; able to pass a drug test and criminal background check.
Daily Responsibilities
Perform duties as assigned by the RPLS to complete projects accurately, safely, ethically, and professionally within a timely manner.
Serve as lead on a survey crew and instruct crew members on survey techniques.
Upload/download survey data files to their proper locations on the field data collector or office computer.
Use Trimble surveying equipment, including but not limited to GPS, total stations and data collectors, to assist with the determination of elevations and property boundaries.
Collect quality data in the field, keep clean documentation of work performed and sketches in a field book, and perform accurate simple calculations as needed to complete surveys.
Maintain equipment and vehicle; ensure vehicle has proper equipment and supplies each morning and return remaining supplies at the end of the shift.
Communicate daily with Project Surveyor and/or technician regarding land survey project schedule and progress.
Prepare daily reports, timesheets, and other required paperwork.
Compensation Range
$49,457.00 - $65,943.00
