As a Sr. Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, designing, building, and supporting a 24x7 LAN/WAN IP infrastructure including routing, switching, wireless, network security, and load balancing which supports multiple locations. You will develop, document, and implement best practices and standards and provide technical leadership on multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience with Cisco SDWAN or MPLS, wireless network administration, and will serve as a SME in routing/switching.

Work Requirements

Plan, design, and optimize high-level LAN, WAN, and WLAN solutions.

Develop strategies and direction for network solutions using current and emerging technologies.

Develop strategies to create a highly scalable and resilient network environment.

Perform network infrastructure readiness assessments.

Perform analysis & trending of utilization and growth providing a proactive design based on the demands of the business.

Translate business requirements into network and telephony process designs.

Analyze technical needs, requirements, and state of the network's infrastructure design, integration, and operations.

Approve and modify design and architecture to ensure compliance.

Develop implementation plans for all LAN, WAN and external network connections - including organizing vendors and users, network drawings and schedules.

Develop design and implementation plans for digital transformation.

Provide knowledge transfer and detailed design/operational documentation to clients.

Participate in the development of the enterprise unified communications strategy.

Ensure timely resolution of all tickets.

Other related duties as assigned.

Participate in the current incident, problem, and change control processes.

Enable and drive continuous improvement through the IT Service Center & Managed Service partners.

Develop and oversee the adherence to maintenance and performance standards of data, wireless, voice or video network hardware, and systems.

Troubleshoot highly complex network and hardware problems.

Asset Management Build, maintain, and audit all LAN, WAN, and WLAN network related documentation as it relates to configuration, processes, service records, asset inventories, topologies, administration manuals, job instructions, support contacts, etc.

PCI‑DSS Compliance PCI‑DSS compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT or related technical field (i.e. Computer Science, Engineering). Experience may be considered in lieu of education

Aruba Networking: switches, routers, wireless – 4 years

Aruba Clearpass NAC – 2 years

Cisco knowledge with network design, VoIP, hands‑on implementation and configuration of routers, hubs, switches, controllers, access points, and structured cabling in medium‑large enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN environments.

CCNA and CCNP (preferred)

PaloAlto Firewall – 2 years

Experience with BGP and HSRP – 3 years

Experience with VSS

Experience with captive portal, Radius, Nomdaix, NAC control

Ability to troubleshoot VoIP in both wired and wireless environments.

Experience with 66‑block analogue phone cabling and troubleshooting

Experience with and knowledge of various WAN protocols.

Experience configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 products

Experience with server or workstation hardware, operating systems, and software.

Understanding of cabling and cabling termination.

Thorough understanding of firewalls and network security to include NAT/traffic rules, layer 7, layer 3 and port forwarding.

Experience configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting routers, firewalls, switches and other networking devices.

Experience using various packet capture methods for both wired and wireless links.

Experience with VMware and vSphere – 3 years

Experience with hosted unified communications platforms (desired but not required).

Meraki experience – a plus.

Linux experience – a plus.

Datto and/or Remote Management platforms

CCNP Wireless – a plus

Expert knowledge on Aruba network devices

Expert knowledge on Cisco network devices

Experience working with low voltage cable wiring and terminations – preferred

Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization

Ability to quickly learn new systems / processes

Desire to learn

Powershell experience – a plus

Strong problem‑solving skills

AWS and Azure experience – a plus

Hospitality Technology – a plus
