Position Summary Teledyne DGO is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to ensure our suppliers meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and compliance. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity of our engineered systems used in subsea and defense applications.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement supplier quality assurance strategies aligned with Teledyne DGO’s quality management system.
Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and customer-specific requirements.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes with suppliers.
Review and approve supplier documentation including First Article Inspections (FAI), PPAPs, and control plans.
Monitor and report supplier performance metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams during supplier selection and new product introductions.
Maintain detailed records of supplier evaluations, audit findings, and quality performance.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Supplier Defect Rate (PPM): Maintain supplier parts per million (PPM) below defined thresholds.
Supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD): Achieve and sustain supplier OTD rates above 95%.
Audit Closure Rate: Ensure 100% closure of supplier audit findings within agreed timelines.
Corrective Action Response Time: Average time to resolve supplier-related non-conformances.
Supplier Quality Scorecard Compliance: Percentage of suppliers meeting or exceeding quality scorecard targets.
Reduction in Repeat Non-Conformances: Year-over-year improvement in recurring supplier issues.
FAI/PPAP Approval Cycle Time: Average time to review and approve supplier submissions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in supplier quality or manufacturing quality engineering.
Strong understanding of quality systems and standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, IPC-A-610, etc.).
Proficiency in quality tools: FMEA, SPC, 8D, 5 Whys, and root cause analysis.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
Ability to travel to supplier locations (domestic and international) as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification.
Experience in electronics, subsea systems, aerospace, or defense manufacturing.
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data analysis tools.
