What You’ll Do The Business Developer works to improve BrightView’s market position and achieve profitable financial growth. This role helps achieve long‑term organizational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates, and closes business deals, and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions. The business developer manages the sales pipeline from prospecting to closing and is responsible for full‑cycle landscape, and, depending on region, snow sales. The business developer collaborates with partners including operations, finance, marketing, and more to manage responses to bids in effort to meet sales targets.

Responsibilities

Work with prospective customers to discover their “points of pain” and develop solutions.

Accurately forecast sales deliverables and KPIs.

Achieve sales goals and work independently.

Perform sales prospecting using consultative techniques to build long‑standing business relationships.

Prepare and conduct heavy phone prospecting, sales presentations, virtual demonstrations, and handle contract negotiations with minimum supervision.

Identify customer needs and utilize solution‑based selling techniques to fully demonstrate the value of BrightView services.

Cultivate and maintain relationships with prospects and existing clients.

Build and maintain trust‑based professional relationships with key decision makers.

Plan daily activities, hit specific benchmarks, and close business.

Log activity consistently and reliably in CRM (Salesforce).

Work in a fast‑paced environment while operating with a high sense of urgency.

Communicate proactively with all decision makers and influencers.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

Extensive face‑to‑face (B2B) selling experience at the mid‑to‑senior levels, 3–5 years of experience.

Experience managing multiple projects and able to multi‑task in a large territory.

Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Experience with a CRM or SFA tool.

Proven track record of sales goal attainment and pipeline management.

Highly competitive, positive, and results‑driven.

Excellent presentation skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills to build client‑centric and solution/value‑based proposals.

Working experience with social media.

Local knowledge and contacts in one or more market segments preferred.

Ability to be self‑motivated and self‑directed.

Experience in the service industry with commercial contract sales desirable.
