HR Business Partner

SUMMARY The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for providing both strategic and tactical human resources support to drive organizational performance and employee engagement. This role partners with leaders and employees to deliver solutions in employee relations, performance management, policy compliance, and leave administration. The HRBP ensures all practices align with company values and comply with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, and related regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Strategic Partnership
Partner with HR leadership and business managers to identify and execute people strategies that align with organizational goals.
Analyze workforce trends and recommend solutions to improve engagement, retention, and performance.
Support compensation and incentive planning in collaboration with HR leadership.
Contribute to cross-functional HR projects and initiatives, sharing expertise and insights.
Partner with leaders to align team structures, behaviors, and capabilities with strategic objectives.
Employee Relations and Compliance
Advise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment law compliance.
Conduct workplace investigations, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
Partner with cross‑functional teams (Payroll, Benefits, Legal, and Compliance) to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate documentation related to employee relations and HR compliance.
Promote a fair, equitable, and respectful work environment through proactive guidance and education.
Leave and Accommodation Administration
Administer employee leaves of absence (FMLA, ADA, personal, and other statutory or company programs).
Coordinate communication between employees, managers, healthcare providers, and internal partners to ensure compliance and timely processing.
Facilitate the ADA interactive process, evaluate accommodation requests, and document outcomes.
Provide guidance and training to leaders on leave procedures, return‑to‑work coordination, and reasonable accommodations.
Monitor and analyze leave data to identify process improvements and compliance risks.
Performance Management
Support effective execution of performance management programs, including goal setting, reviews, and development planning.
Guide leaders through performance improvement and coaching processes.
Promote leadership development initiatives to enhance organizational performance and accountability.
Learning and Development
Assess training needs and collaborate on targeted development programs.
Equip managers with HR‑related capabilities to build engagement and foster a positive work environment.
Perform other related tasks as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong understanding of employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc.) and compliance requirements.
Familiar with best practices in conducting workplace investigations and developing policies.
Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment in handling sensitive or complex issues, communicating with honesty, empathy, and respect.
Solid ability to balance tactical HR execution with strategic business alignment, designing and implementing solutions that support organizational objectives.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience managing leave of absence and accommodation programs, including documentation, communication, and legal compliance.
Strong interpersonal and consultative skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels and functions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS).
Ability to manage multiple priorities with adaptability, resourcefulness, and strong organizational skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Five (5) years of progressive experience in Human Resources with emphasis on employee relations and leave administration.
SHRM‑CP/SCP or HRCI PHR/SPHR certified or obtained within 12 months of hire.
