Required: Must have strong health insurance domain background and EDI Transactions Testing 837, 834, 820 Job Summary: Responsible for assuring the delivery of defect free software products and software services that are compliant with business requirements and technical specifications through numerous forms of validation in a manual or an automated environment. Work collaboratively across the product life cycle with both business and technically oriented project teams. Provide solutions that meet business objectives and deliver on-time, on-budget with a high degree of quality. Ensure that all appropriate QA standards and guidelines are met. Provides support and guidance daily to the QA Analysts in performing their assignments, monitoring the successful delivery, and adherence to policies and procedures. Experience: 5+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance with 1-2 years leading or supervising test teams. Essential Functions: • Manage and mentor a team of testers to execute test cases at various phases in the test lifecycle • Define and document Quality Assurance testing processes, best practices, and test governance • Develop procedures, templates and work instructions for implementing Quality Assurance best practices and testing standards • Design & develop test plans and test cases to ensure and gauge product quality, while effectively minimizing manual testing - manage creation of test plans, test scripts and test cases and lead in their execution • Perform Debugging and Root Cause Analysis on test failures • Participate in cross functional teams to develop a comprehensive functional and systems level solution test strategy that accounts for the common aspects of the solutions, including cross functional review for such plan • Drive Test scoping of new features and releases with input from cross-carrier test team members. • Identify and adopt new testing methodologies, best practices, and tools from appropriate sources, to improve test coverage • Works with the Business Analyst to interpret the test needs as requirements are being developed. Works with Business Partner to ensure the standard of testing supports the business needs • Research new tools and technologies and recommend ways to implement them into new test strategies. • Drive process for system bug triage • Report defect metrics as well as build reporting strategy • Create and present test estimates to project management team • Create and execute automated testing strategy as well as scripting guidelines • Provide user acceptance testing strategy and support with our business stakeholders • Review requirements specifications for accuracy, clarity and completeness and provide feedback to fill gaps • Formulate testing estimate, test plan and test execution schedule, with a high degree of accuracy • Effectively delegate, schedule and prioritize testing tasks to be completed by the team while ensuring completion of own tasks • Work with System Admin and/or Test Manager to ensure infrastructure is in place for the team • Analyze impacts of requirement changes and oversee effective change management • Thoroughly review the work done by the team members and assume ownership for the quality of the deliverables • Verify test coverage and determine completion status of the test phase • Support Test Manager in providing guidance, training. and mentoring to Quality Assurance and project teams Knowledge & Experience Requirements: In addition to the functional skills and background of a Sr. QA Analyst: • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication, presentation, and project management skills • Well organized and methodical in owning and executing the QA process • Strong analytical skills and experience with implementation and management of metrics • Ability to manage resources and demonstrate leadership skills • Strong understanding of application development life cycle • Proficient with HP Quality Center (QC) • Knowledge of project planning tools (Microsoft Project, Clarity) • Experience developing testing strategies & test scripts • Experience managing software enhancement priorities and release version control • Ability to break a project down into specific and manageable tasks with estimates • Working knowledge of mainframe, SQL, and insurance practices • Demonstrated experience writing test plans, test requirements, and test cases • Knowledge of automated testing methods. HP test tools preferred • Demonstrated experience using application lifecycle management tools (HP Quality Center) • Effectiveness in oral and written communication • Problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills Qualifications
