Data Architect
Architect data plane solutions. Design and implement high-performance, high-reliability, and high-availability data plane architectures in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Develop solutions integrating Oracle technologies such as Autonomous Database, GoldenGate, Data Pump, and Data Transforms (ODI/DT). Ensure optimal data flow, scalability, and enterprise-grade fault tolerance. Performance optimization. Lead continuous performance tuning and optimization efforts for data plane components. Focus on throughput, latency reduction, and resilience in distributed, multi-domain, and multi-region architectures. Security and access control. Design secure data plane components with fine-grained access control and encryption mechanisms. Enforce end-to-end data security (encryption in transit/at rest), robust IAM, and effective data governance across OCI and connected environments. Apply security best practices within autonomous databases. Collaboration with cross-functional teams. Partner with networking, storage, SaaS applications (Fusion, ERP, HCM, CX), and database teams. Propose technical solutions that bridge infrastructure and business needs to ensure seamless integration across platforms. Lead technical discussions. Serve as the technical SME for customers, internal teams, and project managers. Lead architectural design sessions and troubleshoot complex data flow issues, including edge cases, best practices, and technical challenges like latency and reliability. Drive continuous innovation and improvement. High availability (HA) & disaster recovery (DR) strategies. Architect and implement HA and DR strategies for mission-critical data plane services using Oracle GoldenGate, Data Guard, and other replication tools. Ensure minimal downtime and enable robust business continuity. Monitoring and observability. Use monitoring tools (e.g., Oracle Cloud Observability and Management) to create real-time dashboards for monitoring data traffic, latency, and performance. Develop logs and alerts for real-time performance tracking. Automation and infrastructure as code. Develop and implement automated workflows for provisioning and scaling data plane services using Terraform, Ansible, and OCI's automation tools. Build CI/CD pipelines to ensure repeatable, auditable infrastructure builds. Automate manual, repetitive, and error-prone data/infrastructure processes via scripting (Python, Node, shell), API, and Oracle Functions. Networking. Architect and optimize multi-cloud networking components (VCNs, FastConnect, ExpressRoute, VPNs, load balancers, private endpoints, firewalls). Ensure secure, performant, and reliable data movement between OCI, on-premises, and other clouds. Familiarity with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, routing, DNS, HTTP, and SSL/TLS. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Experience: 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, focusing on network infrastructure, data management, and performance tuning. Strong experience with OCI, AWS, or Azure, especially in architecting and managing data planes or large-scale cloud networking solutions. Deep knowledge of data streaming technologies such as Kafka, Oracle GoldenGate, and Oracle Streaming. Hands-on experience building highly available and fault-tolerant systems in cloud environments. Technical skills: Proficient in cloud automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) for automating infrastructure deployments. Strong programming skills in Python, Shell scripting, or similar languages for developing custom tools or workflows. Experience with performance monitoring and troubleshooting of cloud-based networks and applications using monitoring platforms. Strong background in cloud security principles, including network access control, encryption, and authentication mechanisms. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with both technical teams and executives. Preferred qualifications: Previous experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle databases, Fusion Middleware, or other Oracle products. Proven ability to manage multi-cloud environments and hybrid architectures. Software development experience in Java, Python, or similar environments; familiarity with SDLC and DevOps practices. Strong understanding of virtualization, containerization, and microservices architectures. Strong experience in SQL authoring and performance tuning. Deep understanding of RDBMS principles and experience with DBA tasks. Disclaimer: Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates.
