Machine Translation Quality Engineer
Would you like to play a critical part in the next revolution of human-computer interaction? The Apple Machine Translation team is building groundbreaking technology that enables connecting people across language barriers. We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer/SDET to own the quality and test automation strategy for our server-side infrastructure that powers Apple's Machine Translation products. Apple's Machine Translation is embedded into several products across the iOS, iPadOS, macOS and watchOS ecosystems: from Translate App that is used to communicate across different languages, to Safari full webpage translation, to system-wide translation that allows you to quickly translate any highlighted text into an ever growing list of languages. In this role, you'll be directly responsible for Machine Translation's server-side quality. You'll be collaborating closely with operations, product engineering and modelling teams in order to come up with the right functional and non-functional test plans for functional along with developing the automation and frameworks to validate our deployments meet the highest standards of quality. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated tests and frameworks to verify the quality of the Machine Translation backend services, and how they power client functionality Participate in defining testing strategies and methodologies to enhance overall software quality Identify, document, and track software defects, collaborating with developers to resolve issues swiftly and effectively Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and generate detailed reports on software quality and product health Continuously improve test automation coverage by integrating new tests and refining existing ones Collaborate closely with developers, engineering program managers, and multiple QA teams to comprehend feature requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage Be a great teammate with the ability to mentor peers and take on leadership roles within the team Minimum Qualifications
5 years of experience in software testing with strong focus on test automation Fluency in Python, Swift, Java, or other object-oriented programming languages Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience Experience backend testing using technologies like gRPC, Team City, JMeter, or equivalent Preferred Qualifications
Experience with developing server and client test automation and frameworks Deep understanding of development lifecycles, testing methodologies, QA processes Proven experience in software QA creating test plans for new products and features Excellent communication skills are a requirement due to the high level of interaction with engineering teams, management, and other organizations within Apple Apple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
